Not all of pediatric echocardiography is congenital defects. There are several pediatric disease with cardiac consequences which deserve discussion. These diseases include Marfan's syndrome, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, pericarditis, endocarditis, rheumatic fever, Kawasaki disease and cardiac tumors seen in children.
